The Playbook

You are a prisoner of your own perspective.

A guaranteed birdie. Most golfers would take that deal in a heartbeat.

But here's what happens.

You make the birdie — and miss the eagle putt by two feet.

Suddenly, that birdie feels like a loss.

This is what kills competitors at the highest level. Not bad performance. Not bad luck.

A reference point that keeps moving.

The most dangerous thing in competition isn't failure — it's achieving exactly what you wanted and still feeling empty because you never defined what winning looked like before the round started.

The birdie was always enough.

You just forgot to decide that before you teed off.

Define your standard before you compete. Lock it in. Honor it.

Because the athlete who controls their perspective controls their performance.
