The Playbook
The best in the world aren't fearless.
They're courageous.
Fearless means the fear doesn't exist. Courageous means you act anyway—knowing you might fail, knowing you might look foolish, knowing the reward isn't guaranteed.
The theme I keep hearing from elite performers is this: Courage isn't a moment. It's an identity.
It's the willingness to take the chance when the outcome isn't certain. To try something new when the old way is comfortable. To look foolish for a long period of time before you're rewarded.
Most people wait until they feel ready. Elite performers act until they become ready.
They don't build courage all at once. They build it one step at a time—one scary conversation, one difficult decision, one moment of choosing discomfort over safety.
Until courage isn't something they summon. It's something they are.
Identify one thing you've been avoiding because it feels risky or uncomfortable. Do it today. Not perfectly. Just done. That's not one small step—that's the beginning of who you're becoming.
This Week
To Building Fortitude.
Warm regards,
Colin Jonov CEO & Founder, Athletic Fortitude
